SAFETY – OUR PRIORITY TODAY AND ALWAYS
The lives of the people who work at the Sierra Gorda SCM facilities are at the top of our priorities, as reflected in the Five Core Values (ESTAR), where comprehensive health and safety management comes first. We strongly believe that it is essential to systematically comply with legal requirements and internal standards to provide a safe and healthy working environment.
For this, we have an Integrated Management System that standardizes the elements and requirements for health, safety, the environment and operational risks. This system serves as a guide and reference for plans and programs, is based on legal and corporate requirements, and adapts to the reality and operating environment, assigns responsibilities and defines performance agreements.
This system has a continuous improvement approach that is essential for risk management, with the Health, Safety and Environment Policy and Values as the main reference. This reflects our fundamental commitment to sustainable development, achieved through effective management that achieves the proposed results.
Each department and its various vice-presidencies appoint a head of the Integrated Management System [Sistema Integrado de Gestión (SIG SG)], who is given the authority and responsibility to ensure its establishment, implementation and maintenance. These persons must also regularly report to the headship on the operation of the system with for an ongoing revision and improvement.
Our Integrated Management System (SIG SG) allows us to articulate corporate, legal and local requirements, as well as the guidelines of the rules of the owners for the following:
