Civil Engineer in Mining from Universidad de La Serena. Diploma in Mining Planning from Universidad de Chile, and in Human Resources from Universidad Católica de Chile. With a professional career of more than 30 years, Mr. Zepeda has worked in various mining companies such as Minera Escondida, El Indio of Barrick Gold, and in Sierra Gorda SCM as General Superintendent of Engineering, Mine Manager, Plant Manager and VP of Operations.
Beata Choragwicka-Majstrowicz
Vice-President of Human Resources
PhD in Work Psychology with postgraduate degrees in Human Resource Management (HR) and in Labor Relations, with more than 10 years of experience in various areas of Human Resources, both in public and private organizations, small and large companies in different sectors, in various countries including Poland and Spain. For nearly 5 years at KGHM she was the head of HR projects. at the Rudna underground mine in Poland. In 2022 she was recognized as “Executive of the Year” by Women in Mining (WIM) for her outstanding career in the mining industry.
José Luis Carrasco
Vice-President of Operations (I)
Industrial Civil Engineer in Mines from Universidad de Antofagasta, with a Diploma in Mining Management from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA from Universidad de los Andes. In the last 25 years Mr. Carrasco has held various positions in Mine Operations, going through positions such as Head of Shifts, Head of Drilling and Blasting, General Manager of Mine Operations, Mine Superintendent and Mine Manager at Minera Sierra Gorda SCM.
Sandra Montiel Chamorro
Vice-President Supply Chain
She has had an outstanding professional career of over 20 years in the industry, serving as a Management Control Engineer, Superintendent of Contracts, and Supply Control Leader in the mining industry. She is an Engineer in Computer Science and Legal Management of Procurement and Contracts from Universidad EAFIT of Colombia, a Specialization in Business Management from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana of Colombia, and a Diploma in Business Management in Mining from Universidad de Chile. In addition, at BHP she held the position of Superintendent of Category Management and Global Manager of Supply Improvement. Later, in South32 she served as Head of Classification and Supply Operations Manager in Cerro Matoso.
Jan Majkut
Vice-President of Finance
A professional with more than 15 years of experience in Financial Management both of local and international regulations. He holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from the Warsaw School of Economics, and an MBA in Management and Business in Mining Industry from Universidad de Chile. He has served as Finance and Supply Chain Manager at Myra Falls Mining Company (Canada) and Finance Manager at Sierra Gorda SCM.
Rocío Amarilla Páez
General Counsel, Sustainability and Corporate Affairs
A Lawyer, Master's Degree in Law and Economics from Université Paris I Sorbonne (France) and MBA from the University of Adelaide (Australia). She has extensive professional experience with more than 15 years dedicated to the mining industry, working in commercial and legal areas in companies in Australia and Chile. She has been part of Sierra Gorda SCM Since 2015 and has been the General Counsel since 2022. In 2023 and 2024 she was included in the Legal500 ranking of outstanding lawyers in Chile.
Walter Paz
Executive Director of Business Development (I)
Mechanical Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, with postgraduate course in Metallurgy, Metallography and Corrosion, and MBA from Universidad Privada de Tacna. Mr. Paz has more than 35 years of experience in the mining industry, in areas such as Mine, Concentration Plant, Oxide Plant, Foundry and Refinery, having worked in various countries, including Peru, Mexico, United States and currently Chile, specifically in maintenance and projects, as well as in the implementation of software such as ERP.
